About
Group Life is the primary vehicle for discipleship at Wellspring.
We gather in Home groups with our friends and neighbors to live life together and experience the gospel in ways we cant on our own. They are a place to wrestle with the truths of the Bible, love one another, serve the city, and participate in the mission of God for Wellspring.
We were created for community for the Glory of Jesus and for our great joy. Whether you are new to Wellspring or you have been hanging around waiting for an opportunity, there is a Group in your neighborhood that is waiting for you.
Where Do You Fit In?
Home Groups
Group Life's main focus is to help
connect you to other individuals and
couples who have the same desires
and passions in life as you do. We
want to develop meaningful
relationships that will help challenge
one another to grow in their faith.
Wellspring's Home Groups are the
main way that we do just that.
Group Life's Home Groups are great
opportunities to interact with three to four other couples or individuals from Wellspring and share in the many experiences of life together. These small groups meet once or twice a month and are lead by specially trained small group leaders. Our Home Groups are incredible opportunities where you can develop meaningful, long-lasting relationships and grow together in your faith.
Mentor Groups
There are times in life where you're just
not sure where to go next. Sometimes
we need guidance from other individuals
who are on the other side of whatever it
is we're going through. So at Wellspring,
we offer several mentoring groups to
help guide us through life.
In Group Life's Mentor Groups, you will
join with other individuals and meet with
a mentor once a week, or once every
other week, and discuss Biblical truths that apply directly to your life. Mentor groups are a great opportunity to learn from the life experiences of other men and women and to find direction in your life.
Have a New Kid by Friday
Coming this Fall!
We could all use some help with our parenting skills and this class will give you new ways to change your child's behavior. It will also change the way you look at parenting. Using Dr. Kevin Leman's book as a guide you will be taught how to increase the joy in child rearing. Wherever you are in your current relationship with your kids this book will take you to a better level.
Creative Arts
Have you ever wanted to be more creative in your own, personal worship? Now's your chance. In Wellspring's new Creative Arts class, you will learn how to create a sketchbook/journal as a form of personal worship and meditation on the glory of God and his creation. The first class will be spent learning basic bookmaking techniques and creating your own sketchbook. For the remaining classes, we will spend time sketching indoors and outdoors (as weather permits) and learn how to combine pencil, ink, and watercolor sketches with brief journal entries that focus on the nature and glory of God as we observe it. It doesn't matter if you're new or an expert artist, we would love for you to attend!
Ballroom Dancing
Ballroom Dancing is a new class being
offered at Wellspring. It will consist of six
weeks of classes, with each class being
an hour long. You will be trained in
different techniques, starting with the
Samba.
Our instructors will train you in the basic
techniques and moves used in Ballroom Dancing, and by the end of the class you will be able to be on "Dancing with the Stars", or not depending on how many left feet you have. This class is a great opportunity for you and your significant other to enjoy dancing, laughing and develop new friendships along the way.
Evangelism
The evangelism class at Wellspring is part of
the variety of classes that we offer to help you
grow stronger in your faith. This class meets
on Wednesday nights at the church, and is a
great way for you to learn how to share your
faith effectively with others.
In this class, you will learn the Way Of The
Master evangelism strategy developed by Ray
Comfort and Kirk Camron. This strategy is a
powerful tool that you can use in sharing your
faith. After you've learned the fundamentals of
the Way of the Master evangelism strategy, you'll be given opportunities to go out into the community and share your faith with others.
Financial Freedom
We know that things are difficult in this
economy, and that money is tighter than
ever. To help families struggling with
their finances, Wellspring wants to offer
you a class that will help you be free of
the financial pressure that is so common
in these tough economic times. Financial
Freedom is one of the small group classes
that meets on Wednesday nights at
Wellspring designed to meet this need.
Financial Freedom is for anyone who feels overwhelmed in their finances, or would just like to know more about a Christian perspective on money. In this class, you will learn about the Biblical truths of stewardship, money management, and dept relief, and how you can be free from the stress and struggles that far too often come with personal finances.
The Truth Project
Starts March 17, 7:00-8:30 pm
What is Truth? Is it something that's only relative to each individual, or is there more? The Truth Project is a DVD-based curriculum of 12 one-hour lessons taught by Dr. Del Tackett. This study is a great starting point for beginning to look at life from a biblical perspective. It will challenge you to further your knowledge of what Truth is and how to think critically about issues going on in the world. After all, truth is not a relative term, but one grounded in God's principles.
Firm Foundations
When you are new to anything you always need to lay the Foundation for your learning. So here at Wellspring, we offer a class to help you. This course will go through the Bible and give you the basics of our Faith. By the end of the class you will have a Firm grasp on what our Foundation is in Jesus Christ.
Zumba
Starts March 17, 9:00-10:00 am
Want to get in great shape? Want to have fun doing it? The Zumba, an Aerobics/Dance class here at Wellspring, is a great way to do just that! Our instructor will be teaching you basic dance moves to the Zumba to some of your favorite Christian Hip Hop artists. You'll have an incredible time learning new a new style of dance, and you'll get a great work out doing it. You don't want to miss out on this great opportunity!
Learn Vietnamese
Coming this Fall!!
For the past 11 years, Wellspring has supported Pastors and Churches in Vietnam, but now we want to bring a little bit of Vietnam home to you. Our Vietnamese classes will teach you the basics of the Vietnamese language. In no time you'll be able to communicate in Vietnamese and talk with our friends there whom we love and support. You don't want to miss out on this great opportunity to learn a language that could help you greatly as we expand our vision as a church and continue our work in Vietnam.
Learn Spanish
Over the past five years, Wellspring has taken numerous trips to Mexico and now we have a vision to start and support a local church there. This means that we will be sending several mission trips to Mexico, with some possibly lasting up to a month in length, and we want you to be a part of it. To help you in that, we would like to invite you to learn how to speak Spanish. It is one of the fastest growing languages in the United States, and it's one that we know you can use in everyday life. Join us as we continue to expand the reach of God's Kingdom through Wellspring!
